Q: Do I need a credit card for a reservation or can it be a debit card?
A: Yes, you will need to have a credit card to make a reservation. Debit cards are not accepted.
Q: Do I need to have full coverage insurance or will liability insurance cover me?

A: Each driver on the reservation needs to provide proof full coverage insurance. Your insurance card will need to show comp and collision. We do not accept liability insurance. Each additional driver past the first two drivers will be charged a $10 fee.

Q: Can I purchase insurance from Vern Eide Rentals for my reservation?

A: No, we do not offer any additional insurance options at this time. Drivers need to have proof of full coverage insurance in hand at time of vehicle pickup.

Q: Can I return my vehicle to another location?
A: No, we currently only have one location. You will need to return the vehicle to the same location as pickup.
Q: Do you offer pickup on Saturday or Sunday?

A: No, unless other arrangements are made prior when making a reservation all vehicles must be picked up between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm Monday-Friday. 

Q: What is the latest I can pick up a reservation?
A: 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Unless other arrangements are made.
Q: How old do I need to be to make a reservation?

A: Drivers need to be of the age of 25 at the time of reservation at no additional charge. Anyone age of 21-24 can make a reservation as well but requires a $200 security deposit that will be refunded pending return of the vehicle.

Q: Does the Honda Pilot have bucket seats in the second row?

A: No, the Honda Pilot seats 8 passengers with bench seating in the 2nd and 3rd row.

Q: Does the Honda Odyssey have bench seating in the 2nd row?

A: The Honda Odyssey comes standard with three seats in the 2nd row, but you are able to take out the middle seat for convenience. The seats do slide forward allowing easier access for third row passengers to get in and out of the vehicle. 

Q: Is there a mileage restriction on vehicles?

A: Yes, all reservations comes standard with 300 miles per day limit. For example – if you rent a car for 3 days you would have a total of 900 miles to use during your trip. We do offer unlimited packages starting at $10/day based on the class of vehicle.

Q: Do I need to return the vehicle with the gas tank filled?

A: Yes & No, we recommend that you fill the tank of the vehicle prior to return to avoid a fuel charge for our team to fill the vehicle. Good thing is we are located right next to a gas station, so stop there to avoid paying more!

Q: Can I bring the vehicle into Canada?

A: Yes, as long as you drivers have the requirements needed to make a reservation and your full coverage insurance covers you in Canada. Please make sure to check with your insurance company prior to picking up the vehicle.

Q: Do you offer pickup and drop off?

A: Yes! We can request a Lyft driver to pick you up wherever you are at and add the ride amount to your reservation plus a $5.00 administration fee. The average ride from the airport to our location is $17 (Pricing varies). This is a super easy way to have everything on one receipt to submit to your employer or even just to make things a little less time consuming.

Q: Do you have a cancellation fee?

A: We only have a cancellation fee on our midsize and large van rentals. At the time of reservation we collect the reservation fee in full and will only return 50% of the reservation if no show or cancellation. We assign a specific vehicle to each and every one of our customers, so this ensures that the vehicle will be 100% ready for you at time of pickup. For other reservations please give us a 48hr cancellation notice.

Q: Do you offer direct bill for insurance companies?

A: No, all reservations need to be paid with a major credit card and have that credit on file for the reservation. We are currently in the process of researching more about this topic, but be sure to ask your insurance company if they will reimburse you for a rental car, most will say yes if you can submit the receipt!

Q: I purchased a vehicle from Vern Eide, do I qualify for a discount?

A: The way our rental vehicles are priced, we are currently not offering any discounts on any rental reservations. Vern Eide does have a program called Convenience Plus Elite that offers various discounts and rewards that is available for purchase with your new vehicle. Be sure to ask your sales person or finance manager for more information on this!

Q: I purchased the Convenience Plus Elite program, how does that work?

A: If you purchased the Convenience Plus Elite program from Vern Eide Motorcars during your vehicle sale, you qualify for a BOGO day (1 free day with rental) every 12 months from the date of purchase. Unused days do not roll over to the next 12 months.

Q: What if I go through a toll booth and cannot pay?

A: Most toll booths are automatic and do not have a location to pay. We will receive a bill in the mail with the amount due and will automatically charge your card the fee, plus a $10 administrative fee. We will then send an invoice either via email or mail to show you the charges and the toll booth fees.

Q: What happens if I get a speeding ticket from a traffic cam?

A: Traffic tickets captured by camera will automatically send us the bill, we will verify the vehicle and timestamp of ticket to connect it with the correct rental agreement. Then we will charge your card for the speeding ticket plus a $10 administrative fee. We will then send an invoice either via email or mail to show you the charges and the ticket.
