COVID-19 Response

To the customers of Vern Eide Auto Rentals,

Like so many of you, we have spent the last several days and weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world. For Vern Eide Auto Rentals, that means understanding how it affects our employees, customers and community, and then making the necessary adjustments to our work and operations.

We have one simple objective that guides us: keeping you and our employees safe. This has been at the center of our conversations every step of the way. With that in mind, we have made several moves in our business in response to the threat of the coronavirus.

We have ramped up cleaning services within our operations by conducting hourly desk cleanings by a professional cleaning service with medical-grade disinfectant. We also have installed sneeze guards between our rental agents and our customers in order to limit contact. Our rental agents are prepared with masks and gloves for all transactions. We have also made hand sanitizer available for all of our rental guests.

We have implemented new vehicle cleaning procedures within our operation. When vehicles are returned, each vehicle is thoroughly disinfected before it is allowed to be rented out again. Our rental agents are wearing gloves while disinfecting each vehicle from top to bottom with medical-grade disinfectant. This includes disinfecting interior and exterior vehicle handles, disinfecting all touch surfaces within the vehicle, and disinfecting the keys to each vehicle.

We are closely following the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines and recommendations on the steps we can take to help prevent the spread of the virus. We have shared specific instructions with our employees on the importance of washing their hands and staying home if they feel sick. We have canceled various training events that our employees were scheduled to attend, again to do what we can to help prevent the spread of the illness.

At the center of our company’s purpose is a commitment to be there for our employees and customers, and it is something we take to heart in good times and bad. This is why we’ll be working hard to keep our stores open so we can be there to support you and your families as you need us.
